Senior Payroll Implementation Specialist

Newmarket, ON, Canada

Experienced
Who We’re Looking For
We’re hiring a Senior Payroll Solutions Specialist to lead payroll implementations, handle complex client issues, and train our support team. This is a hands-on role for someone with deep experience implementing Canadian payroll systems—ideally in unionized healthcare settings—who wants to drive customer success while strengthening our internal capabilities.
You’ll also play a key role in helping shape the future of our payroll product by sharing real-world feedback and domain expertise with our product and design teams.

What You’ll Do
1. Lead Payroll Implementations
  • Own the end-to-end implementation process for new payroll clients
  • Configure payroll rules and workflows based on each client’s requirements (union rules, accruals, retro pay, etc.)
  • Deliver client training and ensure a smooth go-live experience
  • Help maintain and improve implementation documentation and best practices
2. Handle Complex Payroll Issues
  • Act as an escalation point for payroll-related questions and challenges from clients and internal teams
  • Troubleshoot and resolve edge cases or compliance-related concerns
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a coordinated customer experience
3. Train and Support Internal Teams
  • Help upskill our Customer Care team by training them on common payroll topics and how to resolve them
  • Contribute to internal knowledge base articles, workflows, and process guides
4. Support Broader Workforce Implementations
  • Learn our full workforce management suite (scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance)
  • Provide support for broader implementation projects when needed
  • Ensure seamless integration of payroll within the wider workflow for healthcare clients
5. Contribute to Product Advisory
  • Share implementation feedback and client pain points with our product and design team
  • Participate in occasional product design reviews to help shape a payroll solution that’s simple, accurate, and compliant

What You’ll Need
  • 5+ years of experience implementing Canadian payroll solutions, ideally in unionized, healthcare, or long-term care environments
  • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification strongly preferred; other relevant certifications (e.g., CPM) are a plus
  • Strong grasp of payroll configuration, compliance, and edge cases like shift differentials, retro pay, or collective agreement rules
  • Experience with payroll or workforce software platforms, either in-house or vendor-side
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills—you can train both clients and teammates effectively
  • Willingness to learn our broader product suite and support WFM implementations as needed
